An honest review of the Stuhrling Datamaster Swiss Automatic watch

Greetings to all from Kazakhstan to all those who would be interested to read the review of the Stuhrling Datemaster Swiss Automatic watch. I have to write another review of the purchased product, since a similar review dated July 21, 2024 was deleted, possibly due to the presence of critical statements. Oh well! My job, as a consumer, is to bring to the attention of potential buyers information that may be useful to them when choosing this product. I will post a review on the watch an infinite number of times until my review still remains off the site.

A targeted advertisement for Stuhrling watches appeared on my Instagram 3 years ago. Since that time, I began to look closely at these watches of this brand. I was interested in purely mechanical watches, since I am the owner of a Swiss Tissot Powermatic 80 watch.

Earlier this year, I drew attention to the Stuhrling Datemaster Swiss Automatic watch, because it answered all my requests for a new watch, namely the presence of a Swiss automatic mechanism with a power reserve, a case not exceeding 42 millimeters, a blue dial with a calendar of the day of the week and month, a fluted bezel, a Jubilee-style bracelet with a folding butterfly clasp and the most important thing is that the watch looks like a Rolex Sky-Dweller.

As soon as the discount appeared on the watch, I immediately purchased it (June 6, 2024). I was very surprised by the fact that there were no reviews compared to other watches, despite the fact that the watch seemed interesting to me. The watch was delivered 24 days later – on June 30, 2024, within the stated time frame. I was looking forward to them and was a little worried about the delivery.

It is worth noting that in real life, watches are beautiful, have a pleasant weight, which is why they are always felt on the hand. The butterfly clasp is made in a peculiar way, which needs to be opened with some effort, but compared to other watch clasps it looks elegant. I liked the bracelet in the Jubilee style, there are no complaints, it looks premium. The fluted bezel looks very refined and sparkles when exposed to direct rays of light. I received an enthusiastic review of the watch from my boss!

At the same time, I will note the disadvantages of these watches. First, the function of the month indicator is decorative, which is always at the 12 o'clock position, which does not meet the stated characteristics. What is this decorative element for if it does not carry any functional load? It is not clear why this indicator is in this watch at all, if it does not function. I think this is a marketing ploy.

Secondly, the crown is not screwed, which leads to the conclusion that the stated characteristics regarding water resistance of 100 meters are also a marketing ploy. Moreover, there is a discrepancy in the declared characteristics of the watch's water resistance, 100 meters are indicated on the dial, 50 meters on the back cover, which is generally puzzling.

Third, in the photos of the site, the red indicator of the day of the week looks very bright, whereas in fact in real life the indicator is poorly read, it feels like it is located in the depths of the dial, you have to look closely to see it, but in general you can see it. I think if the cutouts for the indicator were bigger, then the readability would be much better.

Thus, taking into account the cost of the watch, you can ignore these disadvantages and enjoy the purchased watch! It should be understood that marketing is our everything now! There's no getting away from him! It remains to be hoped that the stated specifications for equipping the watch with a Swiss automatic mechanism are also not a marketing ploy. I think that the watch will have its own buyer, although not as massive as other Stuhrling quartz watches.

Beautiful skydweller alternative

Swiss movement, great bracelet, great design. Only thing is I wish the red indicator was a little brighter for the day marker. Other than that, for this price it should also have sapphire. Overall I'm happy I caught it on sale. Wouldn't go for it at full price though.

Nice but deceptive pictures

Overall a 3 out of five. It is absolutely impossible to see the red day indicator, even under a loupe. As far as I can tell the month indicator is not a working function and stays at the 12 o'clock position. The bracelet is extremely hard to take off but I assume it will loosen up over time. I can't comment of the movement as I just received it. I bought a stainless Sky Dweller 4 years ago with an Oyster band but it had a white face and it was too blingy for me. Bought this to see if I really want a blue Sky Dweller and I do. Perfect size and beautiful face. I would prefer an Oyster bracelet.

Nice watch. Bad company/customer service. Buy it at your own risk and do not expect any warranty coverage from the company. Watch is nice but never buying from them again
