I received this watch as a gift from a friend. It worked for about 3 months before the winding mechanism broke. I contacted Stuhrling and they wanted $70 for repair + shipping. I took it to two different local watch shops who both said the build quality is so poor that they couldn't repair it. Would recommend buying a watch from a different manufacturer.
I bought this watch for my 22 yr old son. He could not get it on fast enough and thanked me several times over. When I saw it I was jealous it was not mine. Thanks for a great price on a handsome watch.
experimenting one day (hand winding) and now very accurate (14 days only +6 secs) :-)
This watch looks amazing. The hand-wind system makes for a thinner watch with the entire mechanism visible, which only increases the beauty in my opinion. The process of hand winding is just a minor hassle.
My colleague sitting next door in the bank is a collector of (expensive) automatic watches, and he had to admit that the watch was gorgeous (I purchased the black version with the black wristband).
He believes there must be a glitch somewhere - I will let you know if it suddenly stops working, but so far it works like a charm (admittedly, I have only owned it for two weeks so far ;-).
Of course, much of the appeal in watches comes from the brand, and Stührling is no Rolex in terms of brand image. But if you can go past that, it seems that this in an outstanding watch for the money.
